Scene #7 - Bada satyavaadi bana phirta hai
The teacher walks with a lamp towards the brothel in the stormy night. The villagers look puzzled.
Villager 3:
Masterji itne andhere mein kahan jaa rahe hain? Kaafi sharam ki baat hai.
At the brothel, Taarabai mixes something into a drink and brings it to the teacher.
The landlord comes with villagers to the teacher's house.
Dinkar Rao:
Gaaowalo ko masterji ke charitr pe shak pad gaya hai. Woh kehte hain ki masterji koi bura kaam kar rahe hain. Maine inko samjhaaya ke hamaare masterji apni jaan de denge, lekin koi bura kaam nahi karenge. Is waqt masterji ghar pe hi hain na?
The mother remains silent.
Villager 3:
Woh Chandabai ke kothe pe gaye honge.Villager 4:
Aao, aao, dekh lete hain.Villager 3:
Haan, zaroor dekhenge. Bada satyavaadi bana phirta hai.
Dinkar Rao:
Arey, main aap logo se bolta hoon, apna master...
At the brothel, they see the teacher and the prostitute lying juxtaposed.
Villager 3:
Kaise pada hua hai dekha! Arey, bada besharam master hai yeh!
Dinkar Rao:
Chee, chee, chee, chee. Socha kuchh aur tha, nikla kuchh aur.Villager 4:
Arey, aise gande aadmiyo ko to... Arey, isne apna mooh kaala kiya hai... Nikaalo baahar.
The villagers drag the teacher outside the brothel.
Villager 3:
Jalo do master ke ghar ko.
The boy rushes out and behind him, his mother. The daughter is sleeping in the house.
Vijay:

The villagers attack the teacher with sticks.
Vijay:

The sister wakes up to see the house on fire.
Shiksha:

The mother stops chasing her son, and seeing the house on fire, goes back to get her daughter.

Vijay:

Vijay:

Dinanath Chavan:

A lamp gets blown out as the teacher succumbs to his injuries while protecting his son.
