Scene #39 - Toss kar lete hain
Bang!
Sambha holds his chest and falls off the rock. Enters Jai.
Jaidev:
Agar kisi ne hilne ki koshish ki to bhoonke rakh doonga. Gabbar Singh, apne aadmiyon se keh do ki apni bandookein phek dein. Chalo...
Gabbar signals to his men, who drop their guns. Jai shoots at the ropes and frees Veeru. Veeru picks up Basanti, collects some guns, bullets and leaves from the scene. Veeru takes Basanti to a horse and makes her sit on it. Jai also jumps atop a horse and runs.
Gabbar Singh:
Inka peecha karo jaaao...aur khaali haath mat aana haram jaadon.
Dacoits start chasing Jai and Veeru. Jai's horse gets shot, forcing Jai to desert it. He runs across the bridge but gets shot at his back; manages to safety.
Veeru:
Jai! Tu theek hai na...
Jai, hiding his wound...
Jaidev:
Haan, main theek hoon.
Jaidev:
Veeru! Hum teenon ek ghode pe itni jaldi nahin nikal sakte. Main in logon ko idhar hi rokta hoon. Tum Basanti ko gaaon mein chhodkar aao aur chaar paanch peti kartoos ke le aao jaldi jao.
Veeru:
Nahin, agar koi rukega to main rukunga. Tum Basanti ko lekar jaldi nikal jao.
Jaidev:
Veeru kabhi to meri baat maan liya karo. Tum Basanti ko lekar jao main yahin rukta hoon.
Veeru:
Nahin Jai main tumhe akele chorkar nahin jaa sakta.
Jaidev:
Lekin hum mein se ek ko to jaana hi padega Veeru nahin to thodi der mein hamare kartoos khatam ho jayenge. Chal na teri baat na meri baat. Toss kar lete hain. Heads main rukta hoon, tails tu ruk.
Jai tosses his coin. It is head.
Jaidev:
Main jeet gaya.
Veeru:
Lekin Jai main tumhe...
Jaidev:
Lekin wekin kuch nahin Veeru...apni bandook aur kartoos yahin chhod jao aur Basanti ko lekar jaldi jaao. Jaao...
Veeru:
Jai, tumhe akele chhodke jaane ko dil nahin kar raha. Apna khayal rakhna.
Jaidev:
Haan.
Veeru leaves with Basanti.
Dacoit # 1:
Gulab Singh!!!
Gulab Singh runs under the bridge and tries to remove a plank from it. Jai notices this, takes aim and shoots. Gulab Singh drops dead. Jai takes out two bullets from his pocket and loads his revolver. He hears someone running down the bridge. The dacoit was carrying a bomb in his hand. Jai shoots two bullets at him. The bombs drops on the bridge. The trigger of the bomb burns half way and then extinguishes. Jai checks his revolver...no bullets. Then he notices a revolver on the bridge. Meanwhile, the dacoits start moving on the bridge. Jai braves the shower of bullets, rolls on the bridge, grabs the revolver and gets back to his position. Jai tries shooting at the bomb but in vain. He checks the revolver.
Jaidev:
Sirf ek goli!!!
Jai stands up and starts moving towards the bridge. He gets shot at his chest, falls down, only to get up again. He moves closer to the bomb, takes aim and shoots.
Booooooommmmm!!!!
